An important factor to keep in mind is that I share methods and concepts that I have researched, learned, and developed over a lifetime. Methods that have worked for myself and hundreds of my students. I believe these to be strong and effective avenues for learning. Having said that, this blog is not presented as the "exclusive" way to learn. Part of the dialog and exploration here is to continue building better solutions that are practical, teachable, and transferable. I am continually learning, modifying, or rediscovering ways that can be applied to help myself and others be better sketchers.
Several people have played key roles in my learning and development. I have gleaned from teachers, mentors, and authors, some directly, some through books, and some online in various capacities. You will be introduced to some of these individuals over the course of this blog.
Aspects of the information presented here have overlapping concepts and ideas, from a variety of sources, some going back historically, while others are more recent. Other things have been taught or retaught to me through a teacher, an author, or some other venue. As a result, I may not always cite the original source, so if I talk about something without due credit please let me know and I will update accordingly.
Most importantly this forum is meant to be a safe and friendly place to learn, grow, and explore. Any unkind, inappropriate comments/language, or thread content that is not subject-specific will be edited out.
