A Bit From My Students...
Over the years I have come to realize that I probably learn more from my students than they do from me. It is a privilege to share in their discovery, journey, and curiosity. It energizes me, challenges me, and keeps me fresh in my own work. In the end, I'm as much a student as any who comes to my workshops.
"For the first time, I’d found a teacher who not only understands the craft of drawing and painting but also understands ME and my trials and tribulations on my own creative path. Glenn starts from the beginning, showing us first how to use our most important tool in drawing, our eyes. From here we learn to observe and translate to paper or canvas. Seeing the world in colours and shapes he simplifies even the most daunting subject and in turn greatly encourages and strengthens the artist’s confidence in their ability. Glenn uses any technical errors or frustrations one may face as signs of progress. And promises the work put in will always pay off."

"For me, Glenn's workshops provided an excellent variety of options around technique and process that gave me an entryway into the practice of art. These tools helped me get over my long-standing fear of a blank page or canvas, my unease about knowing how to begin, and my unhelpful perfectionism that shut me down. I became freer to try different things, make mistakes, and choose what fits me best."

"I have taken 2 classes with Glenn, one, initially to see what kind of teacher he was and the other his Sketching in the Wild, a week-long class, oriented to learning to paint outdoors. I have been painting for a number of years but getting myself organized with the right equipment once out there kept defeating me. Now I am organized because of his class. It moved me from extremely frustrated to loving Plein Air painting. Glenn made the class interesting, and he is a great instructor. Thanks Glenn."
