A Bit About Myself...

.
Working for over thirty years as a graphic designer, illustrator, art director, and, workshop instructor I have utilized digital and traditional media to design and illustrate children’s books, trade paperbacks, magazines, corporate identities, brochures, posters, catalogs, annual reports, board games, web sites, advertising campaigns and more. Clients have included: Cedar Springs Water, Crate Designs, EC&I Magazine, Harcourt Brace and Company Canada, Horizon Holidays, ISECO, Lipton Monarch, Mississauga Transit, The City of Toronto, The Ontario Hospital Association, The Region of York, and others.

The last number of years has focused on sharing my knowledge through workshops designed to equip people of all levels, from beginner to advanced, from hobbyist to professional. I endeavor to present a practical understanding and application of time-tested concepts and procedures that result in increased accuracy, confidence, and ability on the part of my students. This blog is an extension of my workshops. To help introduce a larger audience to the joys and benefits of sketching. I believe anybody who can read and write already has the skills needed to draw or paint well. All that is required is a good working process, the right information, and a desire to learn and grow.

"The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know.", a famous quote by Albert Einstein, has helped me to understand that in the end, we are all students.
