Some of the more popular topics are:
Drawing with Accuracy
In a few hours, you can learn the procedural keys to drawing with accuracy. If you can read and write, you already know how to draw! It's just a matter of unlocking those abilities with a practical process. If you already draw but are frustrated with your level of accuracy, this workshop will help you break through that barrier. I have done this workshop for many years now, with hundreds of students, and no one has been unable to develop these skills.
Urban Sketching
One of the fastest-growing grassroots art movements worldwide is all about getting out and sketching the world around you. Here you will learn the fundamentals of drawing on location and overcoming the challenges one faces in two areas. The first is how to pack your supplies to keep your setup light and mobile. The second is to help you get past some of the apprehension of sketching urban life on location.
Understanding Colour
Colour matching and mixing paints can sometimes be an exercise in frustration. Sometimes colour theory seems to turn to "mud" as you mix your pigments on the palette. Here you will learn to define colour by its three measurable characteristics that fit into a dimensional colour space. This practical colour model opens the door to stronger colour observation and better control when mixing your paints.
Visual Journaling
A popular subject opening up students to discover that they can draw, regardless of so-called talent or even if they have never drawn before. We will explore the habit of regular journaling through sketched images. We will also look into the realms of memory improvement, pedagogical learning, studying, and even understanding some of the associated health benefits connected to this practice.
I cover other areas of drawing and painting like perspective, figures and faces, shape simplification, conceptual process, painting on location, telling a story with your art, notan, composition, memory drawing, simplified colour palettes, and more.
